What is APPOCI?
The Act to Protect the Privacy of Online Customer Information (APPOCI) is a Maine law enacted in 2019, going into effect July 1st, that prohibits internet service providers from using, selling or distributing consumer data without user consent. The law requires Maine ISPs to get customers’ approval before sharing or selling personal data.
